I know Quaily will undoubtedly become the best tool in my heart — whether for content publishing or as a newsletter.

This is because Quaily was developed with the goal of meeting my needs.

However, this doesn't mean Quaily can satisfy everyone.

It's extremely difficult for a product to cater to everyone's tastes, just like clean drinking water and air have no discernible flavor.

It's even more challenging for a product to meet everyone's needs; such a thing has yet to be seen in human society.

So, rather than listing Quaily's advantages over other products to "trick" people into using it, it's better to clearly explain Quaily's direction of iteration.

Basic Principles

  1. Quaily always prioritizes creators.
  2. Quaily strives to give readers the best experience.

Vision

Quaily's idea is to provide creators with a user-friendly, ready-to-use creative environment. This environment not only includes a series of features as tools but also content distribution, content iteration, and interaction between creators and readers.

Based on this goal, it's easier to understand Quaily's feature design.

For example, support for Discord, Telegram, and LINE is for content distribution and building interaction; monetization is for positive feedback on creation.

However, energy and development resources are limited, so despite wanting to approach the vision, we can't promise to always achieve it

Will Do

  • Aim for out-of-the-box usability, handling tedious tasks including Email, payment, SEO, etc.
  • Make the core features as user-friendly as possible
  • Provide developer-friendly APIs, tools, and SDKs
  • Integration with AI and third-party tools

Won't Do

Below, I'll list things Quaily won't do (or can't do due to objective reasons) to help you make a better choice between Quaily and other products.

Censorship based on ideology or competitive

This means that topics not prohibited by law are acceptable, and external links will not be disabled.

Placing others' posts on your pages

Once you enter a creator’s “domain”, the entire experience should revolve around THAT creator.

Therefore, I believe it’s inappropriate to place related posts from other creators, though this might be profitable from a platform-level standpoint.

If you find this acceptable, you could choose Note.

Startling Subscription Popups

I don't think it's a good experience for readers to be interrupted by sudden subscription popups or have half their screen covered by a subscription panel while reading. It's impolite.

If you believe Growth Hacking is important to this extent, you can choose Medium.

Pushing Through WeChat Official Accounts

According to Tencent's requirements, to push through WeChat Official Accounts, you need to establish a company in China, register, and comply with Tencent's content guidelines and review process. Quaily currently has no plans to meet these conditions.

If you believe the WeChat ecosystem is crucial, you can choose WeChat Official Accounts, Xiaobot, Zhubai, or Zsxq.

Theme and Style Customization

Maintaining a customizable theme framework is technically too complex, and from a product perspective, most users' theme customizations are disastrous.

Therefore, Quaily won't support completely free theme and style customization but will offer different visual options based on usability.

If you believe theme customization is very important, you can choose Wordpress.

Self-hosted Open Source Product

Quaily initially considered whether to be open source. But we found that open source wouldn't help in practicing the vision according to the above principles and would create additional costs and maintenance pressure, so I gave up on the idea.

If you want to host the service yourself, you can choose Wordpress, Listmonk, or Ghost.

Single Article Sales

Continuous creation is what brings life to creative work. I believe the relationship between creators and readers shouldn't be a one-time transaction, nor do I encourage such transactions.

If you need to sell individual digital products, you can choose Gumroad.

Issuing NFTs as Membership Credentials

Currently, we don't see the necessity of using NFTs as membership credentials. 99% of membership credentials don't have trading needs, and the blockchain infrastructure is not sufficient to implement such a product decision.

If you believe NFTs are important, you can choose Mirror.

As I haven't used many similar products, I can't list them all. If you find some interesting comparisons, feel free to let me know. I'll consider whether to include them as part of the iteration or expand the list above.

Thank you 🥰.
