If you often need to use free database tools, in addition to the previously introduced Aqua Data Studio and dBeaver, there is now another option: JetBrains’ DataGrip. DataGrip operates similarly to the database functionality in IntelliJ IDEA.

On October 1st, 2025, JetBrains changed DataGrip’s licensing model from commercial paid to free for non-commercial use. Commercial use still requires a paid license, while non-commercial use is free, but registration is still required to obtain the free license.
