Obsidian's settings dialog is frequently used, but being a pop-up, it cannot be resized or moved. This can be inconvenient, especially when adjusting appearance-related settings.
A user raised this issue, and I've summarized the workarounds provided by others.
1. When switching themes
Open the note you want to observe in a new window before opening the settings dialog.
2. Theme settings via Style Settings plugin
Run the command Style Settings: Show Style Settings view or click its toolbar icon.
3. Using CSS
This is not ideal, but interested users can test it themselves.
.modal-bg {
background-color: inherit !important;
}
.modal-container {
position: sticky !important;
}
.modal.mod-sidebar-layout {
height: 30vh !important;
}
