Windows 11 24H2: All the shared methods found online for disabling taskbar thumbnail previews (Peek) have failed. Neither modifying the Registry with regedit nor changing the group policy with gpedit has been successful.
The ultimately successful method was using a third-party tool: Windhawk. Follow these steps:
- Install and launch Windhawk.
- Download, install, and enable the "Disable Taskbar Thumbnails" module.
Once enabled, taskbar thumbnail previews will no longer appear.
